Classic Feminine and Beauty
Tweet
I have always loved this era (40s, 50s, and the 60s) when women dressed like ladies and enjoyed doing it. When did buying a pair of $200 dollar jeans become elegant and sneakers become the main attire for dressing up. ugh!
This look will never go out of style; you have to admit, this look is sooo classic and feminine

Taverna Kyclades
Tweet
Tonight my girlfriend took me to a very nice Greek restaurant in Astoria, Queens, NY. Called Taverna Kyclades.
I have one thing to say about this place " Fantastic"! If you want to enjoy the food here, I will advise you get there early or make reservations or just wait in line. Yes, wait in line for a table. But, it's soooo worth the wait. We shared a classic Greek salad w/ feta, cucumbers, Kalamata olives, onions, and Tomatoes. The Feta was soo good.
Steamed Dandelions |
Broiled scallops |
Stuffed Clams |
Stuffed Shrimp |
For the main course we had Kyclades "Specialty" Stuffed clams, stuffed shrimp, lobster tail, fillet of sole and scallops. You must try the specialty. A feast for two (yes, we shared). We also order the Chicken Kebab with Steam Dandelions. I'm getting hungry all over again writing this blog.. And for dessert we had custard pie; this came with the meal
It's worth the trip to Queens, yes!
Martha's Country Bakery...mmmmmmmmmmm

Just want to get away from the city and avoid the hyped crowds and long lines at Magnolia Bakery or Crumbs in the city, visit Martha’s Country Bakery, a lesser-known Astoria-based dessert heaven just a few minutes away from Manhattan.
Serving American dessert classics, Martha’s feels like your grandmother’s house with its warm, cozy ambiance and sweet aroma of its famous butter cream cupcakes. Martha’s also offers fresh fruit pies, strawberry shortcakes, muffins, scones, cannolis, cappuccinos, and assorted gelato.
All baking is done on the premises, which features an open kitchen, inviting visitors to watch the pastry chefs in action. With homemade wall signs declaring, “Stressed Spelled Backwards is Desserts” and “A Balanced Diet is a Cookie in Each Hand,” how could you resist?(
